Mayuko Ayabe, a native of Japan, was first introduced to modern dance at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Subsequently earning her BFA degree in Dance, Mayuko taught at The Movement Center and performed with Convergence Dance Theatre, Honolulu Dance Theatre, Onium Ballet Project, and Tau Dance Theatre in Hawaii. In 2006, she attended American Dance Festival where she danced in works by Berry & Nance Dance Project, Keigwin + Company, Paul Taylor, and Ting-Ting Chang. She furthered her training at London Contemporary Dance School in 2007 as an exchange student. In 2008, upon graduation, Mayuko moved to San Francisco. She is currently working with Dance/Theater Shannon, Inochi Dance, Michelle Fletcher, and The Seam.

Kelly Del Rosario was born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii. He began his studies in dance in 2001 at the University of Hawaii and received his B.F.A. in Dance in 2005. Del Rosario has also studied Capoeira in Hawaii, California, and Brazil since 1998. Upon graduation, he moved to San Francisco where he has worked with Shift>>>Physical Theater, Kara Davis of Project Agora, Liberation Dance, and Robert Moses' Kin. He currently dances for Margaret Jenkins Dance Company.

 

Lisa Tilch, a southern California native, made her way to San Francisco in September 2008. She began dancing at the age of 5 in a small Oceanside dance studio. From there, Lisa continued her dance training at Chapman University in the city of Orange, where she received her BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Communication. While at school, Lisa had the pleasure of studying with influential teachers like Sean Greene, Dale Merril, Janek Schergen, Larry Rosenberg, Jenny Backhaus, Nancy Dickson-Lewis, Mike Esperanza, and Tiffany Billings. Lisa has also had the opportunity to perform at ACDFA at San Francisco State University, as well as show an original piece of choreography in the informal showing. Since graduating, Lisa has taken several summer intensives with choreographers like Doug Varone, Robert Moses, and Ben Levy. Upon her arrival to San Francisco, Lisa has worked with Katie Anderson, Shannon Preto of Dance/Theater Shannon, and Kimberly McCollister of Inochi Dance Project.

Nicole Zvarik is an independent choreographer and performance artist in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has an MFA in Choreography from Mills College, where she studied with Molissa Fenley, Kathleen McClintock, Sonia Delwaide-Nichols, and Anne Westwick. Originally from the East Coast, Nicole received her Bachelor's degree in Dance and Sociology from Wilson College. She has danced with Chambersburg Ballet Theatre, performed and choreographed for Wilson's Modern Dance Ensemble including performing for Italia Dance Festival in Cesena, Italy. She has taught dance on the East and West Coast including summer intensives at Amherst College and is currently the Dance Department Head at Bayside STEM Academy. Nicole's choreography has been presented throughout the Bay Area through various events including the Culture Catch Salon: Macworld Expo 2007, ArtSFest's Spectra Ball and the Yelp Holiday Party at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. She is a collaborator with DOUBLE VISION and is currently producing her own work throughout the Bay Area.

 

Márcia Lusalva was born in Brasília, where she received her BA in Theater and Performance from the Universidade de Brasília. Since the beginning of her career she has been engaged in a multidisciplinary research involving circus techniques, modern and contemporary dance, Brazilian popular dance, Body Mind Centering. In the framework of this research, she participated in several workshops in Brazil, France, Italy, Colombia. She is a co-founder of the Márcia Duarte Dance Company (1994) and a member of the basiRaH Contemporary Dance Group since 1997. She has been collaborating with these two groups for twenty years, both developing her own research on body and taking part in the collective creations as a choreographer, dancer and technical assistant. She has taught and presented her work all around Brazil, as well as in Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Portugal and the US (Chicago).

Lizzie Karr, artistic director, began LizZieMoVeS in New York, NY where the company appeared in guest performances at the Merce Cunningham Studios, St. Bart’s Church, and Union Square, and in several commissioned works for the United Nations. Lizzie received a warm welcome to Portland, OR last August as one of Conduit’s “Charged” artists, a commission project that sponsors choreographers for rehearsal space and production needs. Since “Charged” Lizzie has performed at Conduit’s Annual Benefit; the Portland Jazz Festival; MOVE in Tacoma, WA; and Ten Tiny Dances in Portland and Tacoma. She has hosted multimedia showcases at the Someday Lounge, and premiered “Daisy B’s Exploding Red Tomatoes,” in December 2009 in collaboration with video artist Jason Bahling. In February 2009, Lizzie and Jason completed their first Dance for Camera, “Elle.” Lizzie is now located in San Francisco, CA.
